This talk investigates the significant role artificial neural networks can play in philosophical theories of free-will, through simulating a deterministic universe.

About the Speaker

Max Darby graduated from UCC in 2018 with a BA in Digital Humanities & Information Technology. Max continues his research in the philosophy of artificial intelligence, in which he attempts to compare artificial intelligence with monotheistic religions as the basis of his MPhil. During the day Max develops machine learning models in his role as a Data Scientist with Musgrave Limited. He is a proponent of ethical artificial intelligence in industry.
