Museum Outreach, Public History and Education
Aoife Hegarty
Abstract
This talk will look at the Public History movement and why it is important for the public to consume and understand history. In doing so, it will explore the platform of Museum Outreach programmes, looking at the education process for those who do not have access to alternative learning opportunities and how the use of digital technologies could benefit these audiences.
About the Speaker

About the Colloquium
UCC’s Digital Arts & Humanities Research Colloquium draws speakers from across Cork’s research community (and sometimes beyond). Comprised of subject experts and postgraduate students, the event fosters multidisciplinary exchange while exposing students and faculty to new concepts, methods, and projects.
