This page describes how to do the following:

Switch on the projector for the main screen display.
Connect your own laptop to the display on the main projector screen using HDMI.
Display the large touchscreen and booths screen displays to the main display screen.

To connect to any display in the room without the need for wires go to this page.

 

Switch on the projector for the main screen display.

Ensure the PC is powered on (see PC power location on image of equipment rack below). The Extron controller (see above) is located on top of the desk at the front left of the room next to the PC screen. To power on the projector select ‘Display’ to ‘On’, the projector takes a few minutes to display after powering on. Select the ‘PC’ button on the Extron to display the PC to the main projector screen in the room. The highlighted button is the selected option for display to the projector screen. The switcher also gives the option of displaying or switching between, HDMI connected laptop, the ‘Touch-screen’ (Large Touchscreen to the left of the room) and ‘Booth 1’ (booth furthest from main door on the right) to the main projector screen.

There are also two wireless keyboards and “mice” located in the cupboard. There is one each labelled for the main screen and one for the touchscreen. These are battery operated so should be powered off when not in use.

Connect your own laptop to the display on the main projector screen using HDMI.

Use the HDMI cable from the top of the desk to connect your laptop. Press the HDMI LAPTOP button on the Extron controller. Make sure the Extron Display is set to on, as explained above. Select PC on the Extron controller to display switch back to the Main PC.

 

Display the large touchscreen display and booth touchscreens to the main display screen.

On the Extron controller by selecting Touch-Screen (Large screen located at the top left of the room) or Booth1 (front right-near the fire escape), you can choose to show these screens to the main room display. Select PC on the Extron controller to switch the display back to the main presenter PC.

 

Audio/Volume from PC to main speakers.

The PC audio goes to the two speakers mounted at the front of the room. In case of no volume, check the following:

  • The computer/PC amplifier on the rack is powered on with the volume up (see below image of amplifier).
  • Volume is up on the PC itself, in Windows this is located on the bottom right of the PC screen.
  • The volume is up on the Extron Controller, see image above.

Wireless Microphones

To use the wireless microphone and headset which will amplify to the ceiling speakers in the room, ensure the wireless microphone receivers from the rack as above, are powered on and the wireless microphone amplifier is powered on with the volume up.

Microphones

Microphones are located in the cupboard and a stored in the charger, after removing mics from the charger for use, switch on the power at the bottom of the microphones to power one. Once the receiver, microphones and amplifier are powered on ( with volume up on the amplifier), the Microphones should work automatically.

Switch off the microphones and return to the chargers as per the photo when finished.

 

Wireless Keyboards and Mouse

There is a wireless keyboard and a mouse each for both the Main PC and Large Touchscreen. These should work automatically once they are powered on. These peripherals are battery operated so switch on when in use and power off when no longer in use to save batteries. Spare batteries are located in the front cupboard.

 

Room Camera Guide

  • There are two cameras connected to the main PC. One is located in the ceiling which is the PTZ Pro Camera, there is a remote control located in the cupboard to control the pan tilt and zoom.
  • There is also a fixed Logitech camera pointing outwards towards the class. This can be rotated by hand or tilted up and down to the preferred camera view.
  • In Panopto or video conferencing  you can add both cameras to the video feed or else choose just one camera.
  • There are cameras and microphones built into the collaborative touchscreen spaces.
