BA DHIT

BA DHIT

Welcome to the BA in Digital Humanities and Information Technology.

BA DHIT Handbook 2018-19

This innovative programme will produce uniquely balanced graduates across two areas: Information Technology and the Arts & Humanities. This course offers you the unique opportunity to study modules in Computer Science, Digital Humanities and an Arts subject.

You will not only develop practical skills to flourish in the digital age, but you will also explore the impact of the digital on culture, power and identity in society. You will seek to discover what is it to be human in the digital age, and the answers will help to shape how we see ourselves and others in an age where humanity is becoming increasingly connected by technology. The BA program serves to introduce students to this dynamic and developing field and lay the foundations for employment in a range of fields, or for further research and/or careers that use digital tools to address the creative questions of the Arts and Humanities.

This course is unique in Ireland. It is a creative, progressive initiative introduced by University College Cork. You will be taught by a diverse team experienced in teaching, research and development in Computer Science, Digital Arts and Humanities and a range of Arts subjects.
