May 11-13 2017Submissions are invited to a workshop on linking historical records at the University of Guelph, Canada, May 11-13 2017. We are interested in all aspects of historical record linking from the perspective of social and data science, history, social medicine and digital humanities with a particular interest in link metrics especially regarding bias among the linked records. In which countries or world regions are they concentrated, and where are they lacking? Can we explain differences in the number of economic historians who are participating on world congresses, and which determinants encourage or limit participation propensity? We also provide a forecast of world congress participation in 2012. This study is based on the first initiative to estimate the extent of the field in the world. Papers will be considered on all topics, with some preference given to those relating to the theme, Mobility and Demographic Change.
