CFP: Economic History Association 2014 Meeting

The next annual meeting of the Economic History Association (EHA) will take place in Columbus, Ohio, on September 12-14, 2014. The theme of the meeting will be “Political Economy and Economic History.” More information is available at the full call for papers.

2015 World Economic History Congress Announced

The International Economic History Association (IEHA) is delighted to announce its 17th World Economic History Congress (WEHC) to be held in Kyoto, Japan, from August 3rd to 7th, 2015. The First Call for Session is now open at our online submission page, https://www.kansai-lin.jp/wehc2015/session_form.php. The first round for submission of session proposals is from 1st March to 1st September, 2013. Please find the guidelines at http://www.wehc2015.org/scientificprogramme-call_for_sessions.html, and submit your proposal by the deadline. 2013 CNEH Junior Scholar Travel Award

The CNEH is very pleased to announce that Peter Sims (LSE) is the winner of the 2013 Junior Scholar Travel Award. Peter and his co-author, Stephanie Collette (LSE), will be traveling to Haiwaii to present their paper “From Chaos to Order: National Consolidation and Sovereign Bonds in Uruguay, 1890-1914” at the 2013 Cliometrics Society World Congress. We wish Peter and Stephanie the best of luck at the conference. Financial support for this award has been kindly provided by the Canadian Economics Association, The Alan Green Memorial Fund, and members of the Canadian Network for Economic History.

Economic History 2013 Conference Programme Posted

The Economic History Society is holding its annual conference at the University of York on April 5-7, 2013. The preliminary program has now been posted on the conference website. Papers will be linked from the program site if they are provided. Details about registration, accommodations, and meals are also available on the conference website.

Call for Papers – Crediting Canada: Canada as an Economic World Leader at the British Association for Canadian Studies – 3-5 April 2013 in London

The British Association for Canadian Studies invites proposals for its 2013 meeting with a particular interest in the theme ‘Crediting Canada: Canada as an Economic World Leader’. The conference will take place in London 3-5 April at the refurbished Canada House on Trafalgar Square and the Eccles Centre of the British Library. Call for Papers – Canadian Network for Economic History Sessions at the 2013 CEA Meetings – May 30th-June 2nd in Montreal

The Canadian Network for Economic History invites anyone wishing to present a paper at a CNEH session at the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Canadian Economics Association to submit an abstract by Friday, February 15, 2013. Abstracts of no more than 250 words must be submitted through the online registration form for paper presenters on the CEA website at: http://economics.ca/2013/en/submit.php Under the “Affiliation” section of the submission form, authors should select “Canadian Network for Economic History.” For more information please contact Frank Lewis at: lewisf@econ.queensu.ca

Call for Proposals for Canadian Junior Scholar Travel Award – 7th World Congress of Cliometrics

As a co-sponsor of the 7th World Congress of Cliometrics in Honolulu Hawaii, USA, June 18-21 2013, the Canadian Network for Economic History (CNEH) is pleased to announce a call for proposals for a Canadian Junior Scholar Travel Award. Consideration for this award is open to all pre-tenure scholars employed at a Canadian institution; doing research on a Canadian topic; and/or holding Canadian citizenship. The award will be used to help defray the winning applicant’s costs to travel to the 2013 World Congress. Call for Papers – 7th World Congress of Cliometrics

The 7th World Congress of Cliometrics will be held in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, USA from June 18-21, 2013. The Congress will be hosted and supported by the University of Hawai‘i-Mānoa. All sessions will be held at the Imin Conference Center on the campus of the East-West Center (adjacent to the University of Hawai‘i-Mānoa campus). All are invited to attend. Conference information is available on the 7th World Conference on Cliometrics website.
